LEADING WELL WHEN YOU’RE TIRED

A businessman in a suit reads a book and enjoys coffee in a cozy cafe setting.

Tired leaders don’t always stop serving—they just stop leading from a healthy place.

When exhaustion sets in, we become reactive instead of prayerful. We shorten our patience. We rely on autopilot. And slowly, joy gives way to obligation.

But Scripture gives us permission to acknowledge weariness without shame. Jesus Himself withdrew to rest. He slept in storms. He invited His disciples to “come away and rest awhile.”

Rest is not weakness—it’s wisdom.

Healthy leadership recognizes limits. It listens to the body and the soul. It understands that pouring out requires being filled back up. When leaders model rest, they give their teams permission to do the same.

This month, ask yourself not just what you’re leading—but how you’re leading.
Are you leading from overflow or survival?
From connection or depletion?

God is not asking you to run faster.
He’s inviting you to lead wiser.

Think It. Live It.:
What signs of fatigue have I been ignoring?
What is one intentional step I can take this month toward rest and renewal?
